Patricia Gómez has more than 20-years of direct experience working on engineering and sustainability-related opportunities in both the public sector and private industries. Most recently, she serves as the Resilience/Energy Program Manager in the Miami-Dade County’s Office of Resilience within the Regulatory and Economic Resources Department. In this position Ms. Gómez has successfully implemented several projects that have reduced electricity consumption in county operations such as the enterprise wide utility billing management software, sustainable capital improvements guidelines and electricity master plan. In addition, Ms. Gómez has experience as an adjunct faculty for undergraduate students, presented at various conferences and authored a few engineering articles. Previously, Ms. Gómez served as a Professional Engineer with the Water and Sewer Department. She began her career with Miami Dade County as an Engineer with the Department of Environmental Resources Management working on the County’s Climate Action Plan. Ms. Gómez holds a Master’s Degree in Environmental Engineering and a Bachelors Degree in Chemical Engineering. Furthermore Ms. Gómez is a LEED AP BD+C accredited professional, a Certified Energy Manager and a Professional Engineer in the State of Florida. Currently Ms. Gomez is pursuing her PhD in Industrial Engineering with a focus on energy efficiency at University of Miami.
